A Lumberjack Birthday Party!

Last Saturday we celebrated James' 1st birthday at the Izaak Walton Cabin at Hillcrest Park in Fullerton! We weren't sure what theme we wanted to go with for his birthday shin dig and threw around the idea of having a Knight and Princess party, a Very Hungry Caterpillar party, but finally decided on a Lumberjack party!

The fact that James' daddy kinda looks like a lumberjack might have been a factor contributing to the final decision...

So we went to work on planning and gathering things for the party back in early December.

We bought the printable lumberjack party decor on Etsy at Piggy Bank Parties shop and LOVED it! The decor was super easy to print out and we got a lot of compliments on it.

For food, we made flap jacks, eggs, and bacon. We also had mini muffins, maple logs (maple bars from B&B Donuts), strawberries, bananas, OJ, milk, and water = A LUMBERJACK BREAKFAST!!! YUM!

For games, Mitch and my cousin Patrick made little cardboard cabins for the kids to play in, we got the idea from here and LOVED it! We also had a coloring station where you could color your own Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, a make-your-own-cabin station (lincoln logs), & a beard making station. The beard making template came with the party decor we bought on etsy, and were made of construction paper + yarn. You'll see my pink beard in a few photos below for a better idea of what it looks like.

Thank you friends + family for loving James alongside us!
We can't believe he will be 1 tomorrow!

Here are some photos from the party. Enjoy!

The grab bags were hand-drawn by my brother Mark, & the roof was green construction paper taped on!
Simple, easy and seen here!

James was not a fan of cake!

Woah! It is such an amazing party venue. I wish I had a place like this around. Also, the decoration and arrangements are superb. It was good coming across this post because now I will be able to arrange a nice party like this for my nephew. I was so confused about the theme this year.
