A Book Vending Machine?!

Yes!

We took a stroll downtown tonight and I was so excited when I saw it.

There it was, bright neon lighting, shimmery books row after row, so high tech and awesome.

And there I was googly eyed and drooling.

Mitch was rushing me as I took this photo, but hey! It's not everyday you see a vending machine full of books just waiting to be checked out and read! This is the gist of our conversation...

This is so cool! You can park your car as you rush to get to the train station (across the walkway from the SOCO West parking garage---literally about 2 minutes away from the book vending machine), think to yourself, 'Aww man, I wish I would've brought a book with me to enjoy on the long train ride to Los Angeles...' and then BOOM! Right before you is a book vending machine! Grab a book and catch your train! It's genius!!! -me

Sigh. Anyway, if you're a Fullertonian with a Fullerton Public Library card and you really need to check out a book before you catch a train, hit up this seriously cool vending machine. It would make me proud, not to mention hundreds of librarians across the land. Not to mention your 3rd grade teachers. Not to mention AMERICA!

Currently Reading...

I heard this was a must-read over at Sometimes Sweet so I went online to reserve a copy from my local library. Sadly, I realized I was 7th in line to reserve it! At that rate I'd get a copy sometime in December, insert sad face Ana. So I told my good librarian friend Jenny my sad situation, and then she messaged me a day later telling me she had a copy at her library! SCORE! Insert happy face Ana here. So I started it last night and I'm currently on page 79 (this is a miracle for any mama with a 13 month old), and I have to tell you guys... I like it! I'll post a mini review once I'm done. I was surprised to find out it's in theaters now. Guess the ratings were womp-womp but the book is pretty good so let the haters hate! 

Wuthering Heights...

Let me begin by saying I won't tell you too much about this book just in case you're anything like me with a tiny desire to pick it up someday.  I was never forced to read it in junior high or high school, and I didn't know much about it other than the fact it's a classic. Written by Emily Brontë in 1847 it truly is "The strangest love story ever told."

I had to give this book 3 out of 5 stars, because quite honestly, I couldn't seem to wrap my head around WHY certain people didn't just run off together and live as they say, "happily ever after". To my surprise the book was nothing like I thought it would be, but I suppose that's why I couldn't stop thinking about it once I put it down...

I imagined it to be romantic, with windy moors and ladies hair flailing all about, and brooding men to be full of charming lines and annoying dispositions...Yeah. It's not like that at all...except for the windy moors. Those moors were pretty accurate.

Now, if you've seen or read any of the Twilight saga books, you will completely understand certain concepts Stephanie Meyer pulls from Wuthering Heights in her book, New Moon. Or if you're an avid FRIENDS watcher, you will enjoy reflecting on that one episode where Phoebe and Rachel join the book club and discuss Wuthering Heights. So if you decide to read this classic, just know it will trip you out...especially the part with the child abuse, revenge, jealousy, and my absolute favorite, the ghosts.

New book...

I found this little gem at Borders on Sunday, The Secret Lives of Great Artists. At first I wasn't completely sure about this book. I wondered if it was going to be like the Weekly inTouch Magazine for artists, but as I thumbed through it, I was actually surprised by the accuracy and humor!
