Where Did the Month Go?

It's been almost one month since I've last blogged!

In the past month Henry turned 2 months old, James turned 21 months old (so close to being 2! I cannot believe it), I now have bangs which I'm sure I will be so sick of by the end of this week, Mitch has continued in the church plant program and been preparing for a busy December, we renewed our Disneyland passes (thanks to my mama!), Teddy got groomed and pampered at his new groomers, and my sisters are visiting this week!

...and now, Thanksgiving is Thursday + Christmas is in exactly 1 month! 

Whew!

So what have you been up to? I feel like Facebook is mostly reposts and ads and not much else. I actually check Instagram to see how you all are vs checking Facebook these days. Anyone else do the same?

Thankfulness, Day 3...

Day #3, I am thankful for :

Theodore "Teddy" Russell!

Who knew almost 4 years ago, we'd become pup parents to such a good boy?! Today, I am so thankful for his companionship, middle of the night snuggles, and the pure excitement he has every time we come home. What a pup!

Things that make me go "hmmmm"...

1) Getting new sunglasses! With my prescription put in them! Sigh...I can't wait to wear these bad boys all over town...

2) Becoming a LACMA member again. Did you know I love art? You didn't?! Get outta here, stop reading my blog this instant! Just kidding, come back. 

3) THE GROVE! I can't wait to go back and pretend I have enough money to shop there like all the celebrities...

3) My pup Teddy! Isn't he a riot? He jumped in the basket to cuddle with the toasty clothes, and even as I picked each article of clothing out and folded them, he stayed in there fast asleep! I lub him. 

4) My son! We are so excited to take this lil' guy to Disneyland for the first time. Be on the lookout for a post solely devoted to that trip! It's coming sooooon! 

5) My husband who adores art just as much as I do. Ok, maybe not as MUCH as I do...but pretty close. 

6) Springtime. Perfect weather can be found in California at this special time of year. Not too hot, not too cold, not too windy (I hate you Santa Ana winds)...it's just a splendid time full of sunshine, April showers, birds a-chirpin', and all that lovey dovey crap. 

What are some things that make you go 'hmmm...'?

The boys...

Some of you have asked how James & Teddy have been getting along. I think these photos pretty much sum it up...

Teddy has given up some of his favorite sleeping spots, but so far it looks like he's cool with sharing. I, on the other hand, need to chill out and let the boys be boys. That means Teddy WILL lick James every once & a while, and James WILL put his hand in Teddy's face to get licked. Mitch says they will have all sorts of 'adventures' together, and I have to agree, I can already see them getting into crazy shenanigans!

Happy Birthday Teddy!

Today is my Teddy's 3rd birthday, which would make him 21 in dog years! My little pup is growing up, and with that came some tears today. Sure, it's because I'm pregnant and full of tears these days, but it's also because I love this little guy so much. He's been our baby for 3 years, and now with James on the way, I can't imagine my life any sweeter. A human baby & a pup baby sounds just perfect!

And I'll never forget the day we met our Teddy. It was Christmas eve three years ago, and he was fast asleep in a cardboard box, while his brothers and sisters attacked our ankles for attention. But when it came down to choosing our furry baby, we chose the one that ignored us the entire time & slept on his back, with his chubby belly in the air. It was honestly one of the best decisions Mitch & I have ever made together!

So happy birthday Teddy, we love you!

The cool weather has arrived!

Make sure your coats, scarves, beenies, mittens/gloves are out, and make sure you call the gas company out to turn on the heater pilot before your toes fall off.

Or, if you're anything like Teddy, just find yourself a Mitch & snuggle up under his sweater where it's warm & cozy...

The weeks to come...

are pretty eventful!

First off, this week we will be packing up and hitting the open road for one more HURRAH before James gets here. I won't spoil the surprise as to where it is we are venturing to, but here's a clue.

Next week is already the end of October...what?! I know. We haven't even picked out pumpkins yet! We are planning a yard sale on Saturday the 29th to make room for James & all of his fun stuff, so some things we will be getting rid of include: a kitchen table, table stools, chairs, TV cabinet, clothes, tools, blankets, shoes, books, paintings! LOTS of stuff. So come over! Buy our used goods & enjoy!

The week after that is the first week of November, which means the beginning of BABY CARE CLASSES which we will have every week until Christmas eve! Like I said, pretty eventful!

And tonight we kick off the beginning of all things baby related by registering at Target! Whew. I'm already tired. But you know what? I wouldn't trade lives with anyone. I am so grateful for my family and friends, and most importantly for the Lord's goodness. Seems a little underrated, but seriously-I AM.

As I finish this post James is kicking and I love the fact I feel more pregnant-er (it's a word) by the day!

Spring...

is here! Such a wonderful time of year...a time of rebirth, renewal & refreshment!

I love...

birds chirping in the treetops, flowers in bloom (especially the ones in my flower pots from last year), the smell of honeysuckles, the smell of freshly cut grass, Teddy running to the water hose after a warm walk, hikes with my boys, fresh flowers on a table, squirrels poking their heads out from tree trunks making sure Teddy doesn't see them, taking a nap with the front door open & feeling a light breeze while my eyes are closed (really love this), still being able to wear a light coat in the evening,  and finally...the days are longer & brighter which means we're closer to summer, which means...

I'll save that last part for summer.

These Days...

We are busy!

With only 7 weeks left of school, this means only 8 weeks until Christmas!

But for now, we are preparing for a little road trip to Arizona. I am doing a research paper on American Indian art, and one of the best museums featuring contemporary American Indian art is in Phoenix. This also means I get to see friends and family!

In spirits of the season around the corner, we snagged a little sweater for Teddy for $5. I love the reindeer on the back, so sweet. Not as sweet as Teddy laying his head on Mitch's head. How cute are these guys?

Last Weekend...

This past week went  by so fast I didn't get a chance to blog at all! So here are a few photos I took from all the exciting events that happened last weekend...

Friday Night: We finally got to see the new dragon in Fantasmic...let's just say I said "whoa" a lot.

Saturday evening: I surprised Mitch with floor level seats near foul ball/ home run territory. We loved it.

Sunday: Brandon & Amanda's wedding was so beautiful! We had such a great time. The best part? The photobooth...Oh, & the fact two of our friends became husband & wife, that was cool too.

& throughout the entire weekend...Teddy definitely got some love.
