Thankfulness, Day 6...

Day #6, I am thankful for :

Music. Good music. CHRISTMAS music. The kind of music that makes you sit and reflect on your hope and His goodness that is real, alive, and all around me---that's my favorite kind of music.

Gungor, 11-5-12

ps-we took James to hear Gungor play last night. It was his 1st concert out of the womb, but  I technically count his first-FIRST concert to be The David Crowder Band last year...

David Crowder* Band-Give Us Rest

Really enjoying this final album. Reflecting on these past 10 years I have been listening to this band & all the growth that has accompanied that. Can't wait to see what will happen in the next 10 years!

Star Wars: In Concert!

Yes, we unleashed our inner geek at Star Wars: In Concert! at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night...

The light sabers were a perfect touch...

 and we had fun!

The best part? John Williams himself conducted the encore of Darth Vadar's theme. What's that? You say you don't know who John Williams is? Well, if you've ever seen ET, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, or ANY of the Star Wars films, chances are you've heard one of the songs he's composed. So dope.

La Vie en rose...

"Hold me close and hold me fast

The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose

When you kiss me heaven sighs
And tho I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose

When you press me to your heart
I’m in a world apart
A world where roses bloom

And when you speak...angels sing from above
Everyday words seem...to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose"

Love this song, and the part around 2:42...

But what is La Vie en rose, you ask?
French for "Life through rose-coloured glasses".

1,2,3,4...

I love this video. Even if I am 25, you're never too old to watch Sesame Street.

Mushaboom...

Taken on Friday, November 19 2010 at Disneyland

I finally read the lyrics to a favorite song by Feist the other day & immediately thought, "Hey. That's us."

By the way, I am loving this holiday season with my little family...really, I am. And here are those lyrics that made me smile & appreciate the boys in my life...

"Helping the kids out of their coats
But wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh

But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay

Old dirt road,
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old

I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house oh
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done oh..."

Billie Holiday...

Falling in love with this woman all over again. Around 4 years ago I had this obsession with her voice & I'm happy to say it's surfacing again. Something about the Fall makes me want to listen to blues & 30's Jazz...Hurry up Fall & be here already so we can get into the 'swing' of things & listen to more Billie Holiday.

wasn't she beautiful?
