Let me just begin by saying, Fuoco is so yum! We shared the Insalata Della Casa (house salad), and had the Quattro Formaggi pizza (four cheese?), however Mitch highly recommends the lots-of-meat one ;)
All the main ingredients are imported from Italy, and the oven itself was brought over from a place near Naples! The description of the pizza at Fuoco is as follows:
A pizza Napoletana is made from a soft dough which is naturally leavened using very little yeast and lots and lots of time. This makes for a very light and easily digestible pizza. The baking process takes only 90 seconds and the result is an airy and somewhat charred crust full of smoky flavor.
Are you sold, yet?
The space is so cool inside Layer Cake! If I was a college student or had a ton of free time, I could totally see myself hanging out there with a coffee, book and baked good. Hmmm...maybe Mitch + I are up for a date night and a little banana grams tournament before baby Henry arrives? I think YES.
ps- I love that we love our city! Stay tuned for more Downtown Fullerton adventures!
